If you want to work hard and make good money I'd suggest working for a private Alaskan lodge rather than a big foreign conglomerant like the Princess Lodges. From what I've seen the pay is poor, no bonuses and they charge you for food and lodging.

Check adn.com, craigslist, and coolworks.com. Its not too late to find a lodge needing workers that pay good but you will work your **** off 7 days a week. I call them glorified slave camps but I made $2000.00 a month wage, $500-$700 a week tips and ate King Crab Friday nights, Rib eyes Sat night, Prime Rib Sundays, Terriaki Shrimp Mondays, Country Ham Tuesdays, Cornish Game Hens Weds, etc with all the trimmings every night.

I hired on as a housekeeper but we all helped in the kitchen daily, making gourmet lunches (to send out with the guests fly-in fishing) and whatever needed to be done. What was cool as we all split the tips between the pilots, guides, cooks and housekeepers. So we all worked together helping each other out like I ironed the pilots shirts but never flew the plane. :

Good luck!

well i am a little tired of cape cod. i just see the growth and not in good ways. you are welcome any time though, i am a good tour guide. Funny thing is I brought my kids up here and they hate the beach. My oldest now lives in downtown boston. oh well are you from alaska or did you vacation at the princess. cat.

well i found this job on coolworks.com. the whole concept just sounds good to me because i don't like being at a job (the same office) 24-7. I don't mind helping out others. I am a hairstylist and bartender, but i can cook too, not on a grand scale. where are you from? where were the other places you worked? cat.

coolworks is cool! my sister and daughter have both found numerous jobs on there in Alaska, Montana and Austrailia.

I'm sure you would fit anywhere i just wanted to point out that theres better jobs than Princess Lodges. Last summer I worked at Tangle River Inn on the Denali Hwy. That was a trip. A lot different than being at a fly-in lodge. I worked in Hawaii one winter. Thats the way to do it. Summers in Alaska and winters in Hawaii!

I was born in Mad City, Wisconsin but my dad was in the army and we went where the army told us to. and Alaska is one place my dad has never been. (RIP)

If you go to work in Cooper Landing Princess Lodge as a bar tender...I'd drive the 20 miles there just to have a beer and say hi. Heck I'll even leave you a tip.

Ok I'll have two beers and a designated driver! Or 3 beers and I'll just rent a cabin for the night.
