You might want to really experience snow first...take a trip to the mountains of upstate NY, VT, NH or ME this winter and see how you enjoy it. Don't stay on the main roads, get on the backroads...

I like snow myself but I had quite a trip the other day in the mountains here checking my trapline with a little snow on a wet dirt, mountain road...thought I was going to spend the night up there, I was sliding all over (even with good tires) and if I went over the edge I'd have rolled down the mountains...you need to really love the winter and snow to tolerate the dangers, etc.

In the eleventh grade and already thinking about going solo to Alaska. Got to give you credit for that.

The only thing on my mind in 11th grade was figuring out how not to get caught smoking on school grounds.

I'm not sure if going to Alaska would be a good thing for my future..
It will be a good experience but I feel that it might be limiting my future success.
I have a pretty high potential
I have a 92 GPA from grades 9&10
and currently my 11th grade avg is much higher..
I'm taking AP Calculus AB, AP psychology, and AP physics B
Extracurricular activities: Orchestra club, Math team, and about 75 hours of volunteer work
What do you think?

Yep thanks for the suggestion but I don't think I'll be driving in Alaska if I go though..
hm but I am definitely thinking of experiencing the cold if I start to seriously think about this idea.

After spending eight years in the eleventh grade, I figured it was time to stop smoking and move on to studying.
