The only good thinthat the show does is that they continually say that it took $250k to get up there and that they need $1000/day to run the operation. I do not know about you, but I do not have that kind of money laying around. Nor do I have a bunch of friends that are willing to work for free in order to split an unknown amount of money.

The last show was pretty funny watching them argue with that Fred guy at every turn - the only person there with an actual clue about mining. If I were there, I'd be picking that guy's brain for every scrap of knowledge he's got about finding gold.

Having spent real time in the northern bush (AK, YT, NWT, northern BC & Alberta) , and employed in the real big mining biz (Northeast Coal, Tumbler Ridge, B.C.) I laugh a lot when watching this show. What it does prove is that urban outsiders are ever more bored with their lives, and they will believe anything , from The Real Housewives of New Jersey/Hollywood/Orange County/Atlanta to The Bachelor to The Worst Cooks of Wherever.
