Thanks guys. I really am loving it here so far.

Naturesdream - Don't plan forever . . . If you remember, my move up here was pretty whirlwind and most definitely unplanned. I saw an opportunity and I jumped. And I'm doing it on a single income with a kid. I'm not saying you should be reckless, just saying you should look for unusual opportunities and then make the best of them.

Blueflames - Yup found my home, now I need to find a house. Small towns are great, but not a lot of housing options. But, I have faith that something will turn up.

nwcountrygal - Absolutely!

Marty - Yup, tons going on in this town. I hope to get more involved in the community as my schedule settles and I get more settled in.

cjg5 - What's stopping you? Come on in the weather's fine, lol.

Freezngirl and gobrien - you guys have been such a help throughout this journey. Your advice and most especially your encouragement has been invaluable. It definitely helped me get through some of those "Oh Crap! What the hell am I doing?" moments.

Well, I am about to start my weekend. Going to take a nap and then head down toward Trappers Creek to do the kidlet exchange with the ex.

Let's see what kind of trouble I can find in the next few days.

It starts with a "W", ends with an "E", and rhymes with "life."

She despises cold weather, and wants to move somewhere with a perpetual summer. (BORING!!!!!). I say that places like that, such as Hawaii, are nice for vacations and possibly retirement. But I want to LIVE my LIFE in an area of four seasons, even if some of them are much longer/shorter than the others!

(BTW cold for her is not even that cold at all! She'd never make it up there! I called my Grandma in Mesa, AZ on Christmas day and she said they had 80 degrees down there. I said nice for summer, but horribly too warm for winter. Wife said no way! That's nice for any time of year. I don't even put on a winter jacket at 30 degrees. Too warm still for one, I'd burn up. She's freezing well before we even get down that low).

I recently came across a job for the Fairbanks North Star Borough that I would have liked to apply for. She just said I already knew her answer. (I tried to tell her it warms up quite nicely in summer! lol).

Funny thing is, she was born in Anchorage! But she moved away so young (just a few months old) that I suppose Alaska didn't have time to get into her blood. She's never been back to her birth state.

Oh, that stinks! Guess you just have to make lots of visits during the summer.
