It's a near zero visability night in Kuparuk tonight. Flights cancelled today. 50 mph wind. I think I'm hosed getting to town tomorrow morning. Not a happy camper.

Well...it's pushing 50 to 60 now according to the little spinny thingy mounted outside. Still 19 above. All the windows and doors are screaming! We've got about 8 guys here that are trapped and camped on the couches.
Central Reservations sent out an up-dated schedule and it shows my flight as being on time in the morning. But that will change tomorrow if they still can't land here.
I talked to my travel agent and she said I can pay a penalty and use Wednesdays ticket in March or June, and I may even be able to get a flight out later this week which would cut my Christmas trip down to 5 days rather than 10. I'm planning on going back in March and taking my Mom over in June...so it'll all work out somehow.
I usually love these storms...but this one is killing me.

I can definitely sympathize! I was in the same situation last week. Got caught in a white-out on the Dalton Hwy at Finger Mountain and crawled the rest of the way to Pump Station 5 where I was stuck for two days waiting for Atigun Pass to open. Then had to wait another day at Pump 4 for the Hwy to open up the rest of the way to Prudhoe. Fortunately I was just able to catch my flight out of Deadhorse Thursday evening.

Hope you are able to get out today. The forecast shows the blizzard warning dropping this morning. If you are NOT reading this, hopefully you are at the airport waiting for your flight! Good Luck - Stay Safe!

I'm reading! I still have 2 hours to go. The first flight should be landing any moment. Can't wait to get to town. I was just looking at the highway cams heading south. Looks like some fresh snow on the road to the peninsula. Could be a fun drive home!
