Martin Buser...running a CRAZY strategy....let's see how the wily old vet does. It's warm; the running is at night. My pick of Mitch Seavey is fine. He is quick when he runs; following a more traditional strategy; and has had some rest--unlike Buser who is running with NO rest.

I bet over eleven dollars on this race and that's a lot of money for a person like me who's on every low income government program you can think of. My money is on those twin sisters from WI and they aren't doing very well.

What's even more disappointing than that is all the cheating taking place according to my reliable sources on the ground up there in Uhlaska.

Some examples:

1.) The leaders taking all kinds of shortcuts

2.) The leaders dropping chunks of moose meat on the trail to distract the dogs behind them

3.) The leaders actually hopping a plane with their dogs and sled, then being flown 200-300 miles ahead and dropped off.

There's more but I'm waiting to get confirmation from my reliable sources.

Hard to believe some people would go to such an extent just to win a race and the prize that comes with it: a $100 dollar gift certificate from Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips.

RedJacket – Sorry, but I think your sources are full of it.

I have participated in the Iditarod for many years as a volunteer medic and as a dog handler for several teams.

I have been to several checkpoints through out the years and know many of the mushers, Iditarod Air Force pilots, race officials, and many volunteers.

I have never heard of any of the cheating you have posted.

Most all, (if not all) the teams have GPS trackers.

Hahhaha. And how would they be allowed since they have trackers and everyone with an Insider Account can see where they are at any given time? You know, way back when... rules were different and the Iditarod did a LOT of things no one would think about trying these day, in order to keep people from scratching. It was bad publicity. So they flew in new teams, new sleds, what ever. That was 40 years ago and the race has come a long way since then.
