Hi Chymarra, this is Chris Cox in Seattle and I've almost completed a tri-plex project in Nome with my brother who has lived there 30 years. It's located on 3rd Avenue, next to the new hospital, which is just a few blocks from downtown. There is a one bedroom unit and two efficiencies, all with basic furnishings, and if you need dishes and linens, we could arrange that. If you're still looking, let me know and I'll send you more info.
In the meantime, I can tell you a little about Nome since I go there once or twice a year. What's most amazing are the friendly people and the scenery. Last summer I took a two hour helicopter ride that took my breath away, (and my equilibrium when I whipped my head around to get a photo of a giant grizzly bounding over a stream.) I've been in tiny houses where you have to wade through coats and boots and sometimes dogs to get inside, but inside waiting is the most fabulous coffee cake and expresso you've ever had. It's a unique experience and if you have a good down coat and a fur hat, you'll have an amazing time. Good luck.
