March 7th through the 15th! Almost here

I need some suggestions. I haven't left Fairbanks since got back from Nome in November. I've got an 87 4x4 toyota pickup and at least $600 to blow. If i knew it wouldn't plummet to -40 I would consider walking/hitching some where.

I would like to spend some time in some villages

North or South from Fairbanks to where ever. Any tips on cheap lodging and whatnot? I'm open to all suggestions. Places to go or things to see? I haven't been able to do any traveling in Alaska that was unrelated to working my a$$ off.

whatcha think?
