...That's what I was thinking.

My favorite M16 poem (actually, the only M16 poem that I can think of):
Winning Writers - Poetry Contests and Resources for Poets and Writers

I had the priveldge of reading the original piece as brought to me by a friend and studentof BG Farrell who went to Hampden Sydney College (for a brief time in the early '90's, HS College offered scholarships to vets from the 82d Airborne Div.) There are a few bits missing, mainly the highly offensive references to John Wayne, Joe ****, etc. But for the most part its all there.
I'm glad that it has finally made it out to the world in Interweb noteriety. It should be memorized just like the Rifleman's Creed.

You do know the Creed don't you...?

We only got to use M1 Garands. Of course, that was the Navy so we only used them for drill. Never fired them.

Heck, I was in the Navy and I fired every weapon in the standard arsenal. M16, M14 (my personal favorite!), .45, M203, Mk 19, Bushmaster, M2, M60, 81mm, 60mm, M79. And the Bofors mounted on the bow of the patrol boat too.
