I am however, amused that you are amused that someone that just discovered his posts and pictures and has never heard of him before might believe him. Do you expect everyone that is new to or doesn't live in Alaska to have the same knowledge as you do in a first visit to this forum? Or his?
I'm not notorious for being a gullible person, but there is a learning curve when something is new to someone. Do you allow for that? Were you ever the newbie to something?
Frankly, all of what you post seems true and plausible to me...should that amuse someone else?
I'm a newbie here. I don't know anyone, they don't know me. I'm actually quite a fun and decent person when not being condescended to.
Other than that... Alaska and all of it's offerings have always fascinated me. I find the way of life and different cultures compelling. Unfortunately, I'm a 52 year old ex hippie/freak, wife and grandma. I never acted on my dreams of heading there when younger, have since married and am now too old and encumbered in my love of my kids and grandkids to leave here. So, I live vicariously through others that do live what is a very desirable life to me. Cold, wilderness, critters, unmatched beauty and all (except that whale blubber thing). I have spied every Alaskan webcam I can for several years running now and refresh the barrow icecam many times a day because no one here at home wants to hear me ramble on about the things and lives that I read about up there. I'm about to head over to the ose mountain blog that starlite posted in another thread and I know myself enough to know already that I will follow that blog as long as it and I exist. I'm a major wannabe. I don't apologize for that. I love fun threads and sarcasm and I love to gain more knowledge of an area of the world that I find fascinating...it simply seemed that the majority of this thread had become long, technical posts by you in defensive mode. That alone hit me as a "thou dost protesteth too much". It got the best of me.
If I became a buzzkill to all... I do apologize for that.
And now, you should be highly amused.
Well welcome to the Alaska section! I hope you find some adventure here that is entertaining and informative.

Thank you so much. I've already been glued to it and your friend, Mr. Ose' page for days (probably time to actually do something productive) which I am enjoying immensely. Were I younger and more able bodied to be of some help to them...I would be on a plane right this very moment on my way out there. What a hardy soul!
Thanks for the welcome.
