I thought this region of the country was suppose to be much better for allergies. At least when compared to other regions of the US.

Depends on what you are allergic to. I have maybe 3 to 5 days per year here where I have allergy symptoms. For over 40 years prior to moving here I have had zero allergy problems. I think my older age may also be a factor.

It doesn't say the plants mentioned specifically in this paragraph are most prevalent in Albq? But that may be what it is saying.

I think that is a myth. And it really depends to what you are allergic.

Allergic to mold and dust mites? A great place! Allergic to sagebrush/juniper?
Not so great.

Does anyone know if mold is ever a problem in the Albuquerque area. I would think it would not be. I am allergic to mold and battle it to the point it has become a losing battle here in Portland. Im constantly sick from sinus problems triggered by this allergy. My doctor has told me the Northwest is not an area I should retire in with this type of allergy. He said I would be doing myself a favor by looking elsewhere. Which is fine. Other than the geographical beauty of the state, I don't really care for Portland to begin with. I won't miss it. Thanks.

Yes, there are mold problems in Albuquerque, and the surrounding area, you see it on the news, they have had problems in schools with mold etc. But I really do not know how much of a problem it really is.
