I always thought their East side location choice was emblematic of some poor business decisions: in the parking lot of Defined Fitness. Maybe others are less affected, but I just couldn't get myself to swing in after a good workout. It was like you were throwing the workout away. That said, I had no issues swinging by the west side location, and I'm glad they worked things out. I think the '0 carb' craze that was the 'diet of the moment' was a factor last time.

I will always think of the APD heli incident when thinking of the West side Krispy Kreme. I know there was a big hulabaloo about it, but I personally thought it was funny. They were at the end of shift and just decided to drop in for some KK.... literally. The 'Burque Journal was classic the next morning: A Bell Jet Ranger with a giant underslung doughnut photoshopped in. Ahhhh, Albuquerque!

I'm probably the only Krispy Kreme addict in the world that prefers the glazed ones cold...

The chocolate or coconut frosted cake doughnuts are right up there with the glazed.

That's scary Mike!

Almost my exact thoughts.

Coconut doughnuts remind me a my Summers in the Caribbean many years ago....

I've tried them - over priced for what you get - IMHO

Krispy Kreme is to sweets what those El Diablo 10,000 scoville-unit hot sauces are to Mexican cuisine. Both kill your tastebuds.

After eating one Krispy Kreme doughnut, all cakes and pastries tasted like stale rye bread to me for weeks. :-)

I guess I prefer subtlety... and not being diabetic.

My son did the happy dance last night when I told him the news. He'd been asking on and off for months if they were ever going to open again. I too feel like I need to start doing laps around the track at Cibola to make up for the doughnuts that I will soon be consuming.

As the saying goes, "A moment on the lips. A lifetime on the hips."

Maybe this means there is hope for the Krispy Kreme near our house that closed a few years ago!

I really miss my Krispy Kreme

This makes me incredibly happy. I've been here a year and have been in absolute despair of ever having a good donut again. What's up that Albuquerque has no good donut shops? Cupcakes galore (don't get me started. . .), but no great donuts.

Krispy Kreme is a start, but seriously, someone open a donut shop!
