I know it is an older photo. But it is one of the highest resolution images I could find of Havana.

Only Chile and Argentina in LATAM hold only interest.
But Chile is reverting to marxism.
Deep Patagonia only safe place there.

I live in Brazil, so, excluding Brazil, that would be:

- Colombia
- Peru
- Panama
- Costa Rica
- Mexico

But in fact I would love to visit all Latin American countries, except Cuba and Venezuela for as long as both countries aren't democracies. And would like to visit "non-Latin" countries of South America and the Caribbean too (Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica).

Meh. Such a relative term these days. Is the United States ALL that democratic anymore? Not so much.

My beef with Cuba was that there is a tourist currency and a local currency, but I hear they´re putting the dollar in the place of the CUC (tourist currency). I assume this will result in the same hustle as before, which of course is charging tourists Miami prices for Third World quality goods and services. It also eliminates just about any possibility of real interactions between foreigners and locals.

That's the privileged response of someone who is not an obligated citizen of a non-democratic country.

Of course the US is democratic the problem being that the democracy is only as strong as its people & institutions therefore it too is an imperfect system but so far the best proven to work for humanity.

*I can cross out Dominican Republic now that I've visited it. It was a great experience that showed me I needed to learn Spanish.
