Petty insults between the two made me just turn the channel when they started.

She couldn't think for a moment, as if no one in the world has ever had that happen to them when it mattered a lot.
Goddard was right. Crime is down despite the rhetoric and fear tactics.

According to the FBI, the number of violent crimes reported in Arizona between 2005 and 2008 dropped by almost 1500 while the number of reported property crimes during the same time period decreased by 8000.

Data compiled by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) show that the violent crime rates in Arizona from 2006-2008 are the lowest they have been since 1983. In 1998, the rate of violent crime was 577.9 per 100,000. However, according to the Department of Homeland Security, by 2008, this rate had dropped to 477 per 100,000 - despite the fact that Arizona's illegal immigrant population had increased by 70% during this same time.

This isn't the first time Brewer lied. She stated her father died fighting the Nazi regime in Germany when her father died in the United States from cancer 10 years after the war. Brewer later backtracked and rationalized her response by saying she meant her father died from cancer suffered from working in a munitions factory in the United States. Her father was not in the military. He was a civilian supervisor for a naval munitions depot.

My God....the woman looked clueless, helpless, anything but competent. Then after the debate, when reporters asked her questions (like where, exactly, were these headless corpses?) she was just as bad.
Four words: DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS.
Heck, I thought this was a tough woman who could think on her feet.....what happened to her? She looked pathetic.
So sad.
I agree. That was absolutely unprofessional. She was not prepared. Brain freeze and nervousness had nothing to do with it.

The old Peter Principle comes to mind whenever I look at or hear Jan Brewer... rising beyond one's level of competence, with bad results.

You don't think it was medical?

I absolutely don't think it was medical myself.... and if azriverfan doesn't think so, then I'd go with that.

She may have looked confused in her opening remarks, but she went on to show she is not confused on what this election is about and what she has to do to win. It's the illegals, stupid, to paraphrase Clinton. Goddard can claim all the triumphs he wants, but until folks can go to Walmart and not feel like they just woke up in Mexico, no one is going to listen to him.

Plus, he's against SB 1070, and in favor of the speed cameras. No thanks!
I agree. Governor Brewer will get my vote also.

She's the only one whose attempted to reclaim those three counties, and brought the murders in the desert to light. But after that brain fade video I don't know if I should support her--is she the one I want answering the emergency phone call at 3AM?
