Imagine cooking a turkey all day and opening your oven to take it out with that turkey cooking at about 350. That heat flash you feel when you open the door is what it feels like. ~ about 4 -5 months out of the year. Your body adjusts to the heat and your clothing attire as well. You will swim more and have higher electric bills.

Great point, Kimballette.

No matter how bad it gets here in Arizona, it is much worse "back there"!

Yes indeed. Having lived both on the East Coast and in the Midwest - and having been to Arizona in the midst of one of the stronger monsoons I can attest that "yes indeed, it's MUCH more humid and unpleasant in BOTH of those places than in Arizona during the monsoon."

Well the closest comparison between our heat and back east that I can give is I've experienced 119 degrees here (6/29/2013), and I was in Dallas, TX in July of 2000 on a day that only hit 98, and they felt the same despite the 21 degree difference in air temp

What is 100+ degree weather like? Is it too hot to handle?
Depends on who you are and your experiences, but no, not for me. Normally, one learns to adapt.

In Arizona anything under 105 should be fine to handle....105 in Indiana would be a living hell on the other hand.

Yes it's a dry heat and great for relieving arthritic problems.

100 degrees in May/June isnt too bad, if youre not in the sun. 100 degrees in monsoon season with the added humidity feels awful, no matter which way you cut it. For me 105 and up is when I get miserable. 115 and up is flat out ludicrous, and makes me wonder why I moved here in the first place. Luckily it doesnt get that hot too often.
