Always best to carry a side arm when roaming the hills down here.

Geez, some of you are delusional. I hike in the deserts and occasionally the Mountains 3-4 times per week. I have encountered pack-trains of drug runners and it's be very dangerous. There are cautionary signs when entering the Coronado National Forrest, to be alert for drug runners and other smugglers. L.E. say's 17% of the illegals have a criminal record! Several Ranchers have been murdered and in one case, the perp. was tracked down to the border fence.(Rob Krentz). It's very dangerous, and getting worse. The person who lives in the Huachuca's and has encountered groups of 100, if you are not apprehensive about that, pardon me, but you are very foolish..

SEVERAL ranchers have been murdered? Other than Mr. Krentz, who, and where? And, I must have missed the post about "groups of 100" in the Huachucas.

You are lying about the Krentz murder. Law enforcement has never stated that they tracked a suspect to the border fence. In fact, the official information that was released as well as statements from the family indicate that they currently have no idea who the suspect is or where they might be.

Do you have any links to sources that can back up your BS statements?

I had mentioned in an earlier post in this thread that we once hiked by a group of 100 crossers close enough to shake hands....I was in a group and we weren't afraid at all....was kind of cool, actually, as it was my first encounter with a group of crossers and I'd been wanting to see some for years before that

I give my heart out to those who own property and have to deal with this crap on a daily basis. Something good that I've heard is that there are a couple militias and minutemen groups who report the illegals which is awesome.

Sorry...I am DEAD set against Illegals....I believe that the border should be armed to the teeth...and patrolled every foot of the way....with United States Border Patrol and/or Army/Marines etc.

NOT with a bunch of self armed radical fruitloops

And all your comments about the purpose and policies of the Border Patrol are perfectly relevant to the Illegal Immigration forum here on City-Data. Alas, they are not for this particular forum.
