I just accepted a new job at the airport. I have a little more than a week to find a place. Not much time to look, and I'm unable to see the places I'm looking at. We're looking for an apartment or condo in a safe area. I've heard the areas close to the airport are rough. I've heard good things about Chandler. What about Scottsdale? If anyone knows of some good place to look, great. I won't lie, I'm stressed out! Any help would be great!

I know of a couple of people who live close to the airport and yes, its a little rough. Check out realtor.com for rentals, they might have something in an area close to your work.

Chandler or Tempe. Scottsdale is a little far out for an airport job. My cousin works at the airport and they live in Tempe.

I would check out Ahwatukee. Safer and not too far away from the airport. Chandler or Tempe are also good. Good luck!

Default the biltmore - centrally located & NICE!

i manage two apt communities on the inner cusp of Phx's Biltmore; tucked back in the Camelback Corridor (24th St & Camelback). It's about 10min frm the airport (44th st Nrth to 202 and head West; exit on the 51 Northbound to Highland Exit; East on Highland to 20th St and turn left...make a lft at camelback and our Welcome center is on the right....COLONNADE GARDENS) i have spent the last 4 yrs in this area and love it! Our rents are very reasonable and there's nothing more convenient.... Sky Harbor emps get a 5% Pref Emp Discount too! if i/we can assist ... stop in.... :-)

Default Areas

South Scottsdale is not any better than South Phoenix and is high crime. There are some nice areas of Phoenix, such as the Squaw peak/Arcadia area and of course the Biltmore area. Tempe is cheaper than the nice parts of Phoenix and Chandler is comparable. Stay away from any place in Phoenix south of I-10 (except Ahwatukee - but traffic is horrible in Ahwatukee...). Good luck and welcome to Phoenix!
