What's the commute time from Anthem to Surprise? Seems you can get more bang for your buck in Anthem, but it looks like it's really OUT there...

Doublet,

From I-17 and Carefree Highway, the commute to Surprise (Loop 303 and Bell area) is about 30 minutes right now. Anthem is just another 5 minutes north on I-17 from Carefree Highway...assuming there are no accidents, etc. I believe there is also a back way to Carefree Highway from Anthem. So you're looking at roughly a 30 to 35 minute commute.

Right now one of the roads to get to Surprise (Lake Pleasant Blvd) is under construction. It used to be an old, barely traveled 2 lane road, and now they're making it HUGE. In part, that is what is making the commute as long as it is. I'm guessing that once the construction is done and traffic flows freely, that part of the drive time will be reduced 5 to 10 minutes.

I make the drive to Surprise from the Scottsdale/CaveCreek border at least once a week (10 minutes farther out than being in Anthem, just a different direction) and it really is not that bad.

I live in Anthem..ask away! I love this community..really great..it isnt as far out as people think..it is just I17 that can be crazy..2 lanes. My husband is a home inspector and says if you go the back way to Surprise (whatever that means!) then 40 mins..
There are PLENTY of homes on the market!
