KINGMAN (AP) — Kingman drivers will have to put out their cigarettes if they have kids in the car under a new smoking ban that takes effect this summer.
Councilmembers in the northwestern Arizona city narrowly approved the ban with a 4-3 vote Tuesday, making it a secondary offense to smoke in a car with people under the age of 18 present, Kingman Daily Miner reported.

Wow. It's NOT my imagination Kingman's getting better and better. Tho some people'll call me a "lib"; when talking about smoking, I'm def glad to see it being stopped around people who ain't old enough TO smoke. Fair's fair.

Makes sense to me, Packard Fan . . .

Second Hand Smoke has been proven over and over again to be just as detrimental as the actual act of smoking. There is already more than enough bad stuff in our air / environment as it is so exposing the young kids in their developing years to smoke is outrageous and above all . . . SELFISH.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the AZ legislature passes a law that bans towns from enacting this ordinance, like they did with plastic shopping bags and destroying firearms.

I don't think so since Arizona def has it in for smokers like as in it's banned about everywhere except for private clubs and the Indian Rez's.

What is this kingman business, and what kind of high do you get when you smoke it?

I guess Kingman really is getting over-run with Kalifornians, now if they could just get serious about cleaning up the tweakers

Oh, darn. I misread the title. I thought it was "drivers with kids banned from Kingman." I was going to say it was a step in the right direction.

How about "Kalifornians banned from driving in Kingman?"

That would make it a lot safer!

I've always wondered if there are stop signs in California?

To be fair: not all Cali people are fools. Just like not all Arizona people are nice.
