Since you're a religious person I will compare to the bible. There are a ton of people that are "dead and buried" in the bible but I'm sure you spend lots of time discussing those people. Should we tell you it is time to move on to the living?

George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, are all dead and buried...shall we not speak of them either?

Excellent response. That poster comes across as a pure hypocrite by claiming to be all religious, then expressing such hate & disrespect for somebody who died (all because he didn't agree with him). Unfortunately, it's typical of many Bible thumpers to honor & respect only those who they choose to ... and for that matter, only adhere to the scriptures they personally agree with.

McCain might have said & done things that were questionable, but he still deserved to be honored & respected regardless. His funeral services received so much coverage because of his military service, plus he had served for over 30 years & was a sitting Senator when he died, which is somewhat of a rarity.

You're right, a rarity - but also really a lovely end for McCain who was still a force to deal with toward the end of his life. He may not have been loved by everyone, but he was widely respected, and he had the nice opportunity of having good wishes flood in, even from strangers, instead of dying forgotten, decades after retirement.

There's a nice editorial in the aftermath of the funeral.

Democrats truly only love McCain because they think it's a model for what Republicans should be. Funny though, they didn't treat him so nice when he ran for President.

Not unlike how Democrats claim to empower women, especially for higher office, until it's a conservative woman. Sarah Palin didn't get treated to well either.

That's because she was dumb as a post.

(...and no, I'm not a Democrat).
