You will really find quite a variety of homes in Mountain Club. It was originally established in the 1920's as a cabin area in the pines for folks coming up from Phoenix in the summer to escape the heat. It's really kind of quirky and fun - you'll find everything from tiny little cabins built back in the 20's to brand new homes. Not many paved roads in the area and lots of pine trees -- you really do feel like you're in the mountains. There's some really neat homes in there, but there's also some real cabins, so renting something sight unseen in there might be a little risky. I'd want to know the age of the home and see some pictures first.

I live in Mountain Club. Mountain club is only 1.5 miles from dowtown Prescott, but it feels like you are much further away. The whole area is heavily forested, very hilly, and scenic. The association is actually not an HOA, but a non-profit org. They are extremely casual and easy to deal with. The neighbors are friendly and willing to bring in new people. There is a big variety of homes ranging from small cabins to large custom homes. Renting should be pretty easy. Moderator cut: realtor advertising
