I've never been to AZ in the winter before, but will be there Dec 4 to Dec 7. So ... how does one dress in AZ in December? Shorts? Sandals? Long sleeves? How about at nighttime? I just don't want to bring the wrong stuff!

We're have December in October at the moment. Today I am wearing a long sleeve T-shirt and jeans. If you are going to be out and about, it's layer ("layer" here meaning a light jacket over your shirt) time because it warms up fast and the sun is very warm compared to MI. When we go to MI to visit the relatives in summer we take our "winter" clothes along. So I guess you just bring your summer evening stuff here.

I don't think you will need shorts. It MAY be warm enough to wear them in the daytime (70's do happen) but I'd stick with layers and long pants. If you are out early in the morning or late in the evening, heavier layers will be fine. Sandals? Well, I've seen them, and I wear open toed shoes myself at times at all times of the year. Up to you and what you think looks right with what you are wearing.

First question is......what city will you be in??!! AZ is big place with lots of different weather in December! I think the other responders were giving you ideas if you are in Phoenix or Tucson etc. Flagstaff, Prescott, or Kingman or someplace else will be quite different and possibly very cold!

Good point!

I was assuming she would be in the Phoenix area based on some of her other posts.
