I could not agree more. I currently live in NJ and wherever I move, it's to get away from how things are in NJ! Why would I want to bring that with me? People will move to an area and turn it into the pit they just moved out of - it's a shame.

same here, that is why we left NM, too get away from certain things and get closer to our family. We miss some of NM, but would not want to replace even those things. We came to AR to enjoy AR, not to bring NM with us.

There's been a lot of talk on this thread about Southern Hospitality - fact or fiction. I can't speak for your state but... I grew up in NE Ohio and have lived in Charleston, West Virginia for many moons now. I can tell you for a fact - there is a HUGE difference between the overall attitude of the people in Northern and NE Ohio and the people in WV. (Actually, our Northern Panhandle is more like Ohio and our Eastern Panhandle is quickly becoming a suburb of DC, but the rest of the state enbraces the ways of the south and are darn proud of it).
