They tend to get married a little later in Little Rock, but Dallas is far better.

I agree.

I had thought some said something about more people being married rather than single in Northern AR which is something I noticed in reviewing sites like match.com So my thinking is the odds for meeting single people might be a little better crossing the border in cities like Branson or Springfield if you are close enough.

Sure you can! Branson is Nashville for the show me state. It is noticeably different in its culture than NW Arkansas. I've lived in both places. I like both places, but they are not the same IMHO.

Then you catch them on the rebound after their 3 year marriage tour of duty.

lol, Bull. Rebounding is how I'd describe at least one woman I'm acquainted with. Married right out of college, divorced two years later, engaged a year after the divorce to Man 2 and engaged now to Man 3 (man 2 had the sense to back out). The mother is OBSESSED with seeing her married and pregnant, even if means paying for a succession of grooms to 'get established', rings, houses, and weddings.

Update: 2 months in. Fort Smith isn't bad. Love my job. Taxes are high. Living downtown, which I love. Good restaurants such as Doe's (one of the best steaks I've had in my life), Bravo's (moving downtown soon!), West End 21. Rib Room is neat and has decent music most nights of the week (but its closing for the winter). Fayetteville is a 50 minute drive, and I'm thinking about getting a 2nd apartment there. 5 minute commute to work. The quality, thin women get married early. Here's the breakdown:

80,000 people
40,000 girls
6,000 girls between 18-30
4,000 unmarried girls between 18-30
3,000 childless unmarried girls between 18-30

750 top 1/4 intelligence childless unmarried girls between 18-30

250 not overweight or obese top 1/4 intelligence childless unmarried girls between 18-30
125 above-average looking (nothing extraordinary) also

Dating pool of ~125 girls. A few less if you factor in drug/alcohol problems and jail problems.

Other than that, all in all, not a bad town.

All in all, not bad.

Those are almost depressing numbers, but I would bet money they're accurate. Sometimes it seems hard to find a girl that doesn't want to be a baby farm.

It is just the small town Southern culture. I am 27, I have been married seven years and I have two children. I bet I am about average for this area too.
