without yet reading the link, it is true.

It reminds me of comments on the obsession of Singapore youth's focus on grades over substance. When their entire existence is summed up by PSLE, O and A levels and their secondary and JC school names, they cannot afford to indulge in learning for the sake of learning.

Chinese Mexicans: Transpacific Migration and the Search for a Homeland, 1910 ... - Julia María Schiavone Camacho - Google Books

This book talks about how Chines were sent back to the US border in Arizona and then back to China were they stayed until Mexican government repatriated them.

Chinese-Mexicans celebrate repatriation to Mexico

History of Chinese in Mexico documented for first time in English-language book | UCLA

Is well known that Pancho Villa hated them and just to kill full families on the spot.

Is of public domain also that Chinese hide under the City of Mexicali Baja California and spend 2 years to have the right to become Mexican. They arrive at night in Tijuana or Sonora desert and go directly to Mexicali hiding place.

The only country not allowed to invest in Mexico, after the new reforms, specially the energy reform is China.

For some reasons Chinese are not welcomed.

This topic isn't about Mexico. It's about Chinese and American influence in Asia

SK Brown,
That was an ugly time in Mexican history.

Interesting post. I have the book. Curious if you have deeper interest in the topic. IF so, send me a private message.

S.

Chinese influence is greatly increasing in Eastern Siberia (Russia). The population of Russia is shrinking (declining) and the average lifespan of Russian people is very low, barely 60 years (due to alcoholism, drug abuse, health problems). China's population is still growing, due to loop-holes and exceptions to their national "one-child family policy". Chinese businessmen and entrepreneurs are moving into Eastern Siberia, selling products and setting up businesses, and sometimes marrying Russian women. China's cultural influence in Siberia is felt in things like diet (food), music, and entertainment.

Russian people are seen as lazy and apathetic, and the Chinese as energetic and enterprising. Along the Siberian-Chinese border (frontier), the Chinese side is intensely cultivated in crops, while the Russian side of the border is unused, wasted land.

In my opinion, both China and Russia are on the rise. But China is more populous, lively and diversify in business than Russia. Russia is large but less populated, and cold too, so people go less outdoors. East asian cities with high population density are all good, with all the business and entertainment going on every minute.
