Because, like telemarketers, they come when I am trying to accomplish something.
Maybe I should ask them for their home address so I can come to their house when I am ready to talk. I might have insomnia one night and ready to talk around 3 a.m.
I keep my door closed. I have no ringing bell, people who are invited are calling on the phone before they come. I ignore if someone knocks.
If that works for you, fine. I'm glad I didn't ignore the person who knocked on my door to let me know I left my headlights on.
Not everyone who comes to the door has unwanted intent, so I keep an open mind as to their identity. But I just wish they wouldn't insist when I have attempted to turn them away politely.
Thankfully, in my entire 44 years of life I have never had one of these people knock on my door. To me, it's just one of those things you only see on TV or in movies. I'm sure location has a lot do do with it though.
I talk to them. I love to see the confusing look on their faces when I put some thought into their heads.
I close the door on them on my terms. They usually get 5 minutes and I do most of the talking.
