Hello, I am a 25 year old Canadian atheist. These are the reasons why I am the way "I am"

- Grew up in Canada with Much less religious influences. Most people in my province are very irreligious. So much so that the few churches in my city are being renovated into a gym lol.

- I am a "tangible" thinker. If I can't touch it or see it I don't believe it's there. Hence another reason why I don't have any faith

- little interest in joining a group. I like to think for myself.

- I see religion as potentially a negative thing and is used in many countries (like Iran) as a means of control.

All and all I have no ill will towards Christians. I just have no interest in religion. I just thought I'd post my thoughts so some of you could understand the mind of someone who's Atheist.

I have pondered the universe, although I cannot touch it.

Then you're in the wrong forum. Christianity is not about religion. It's about a relationship with Almighty God.

You will find many here who agree with your views on religion . . . but they do not necessarily blame God for it and proclaim atheism.

Of course, then there are those within the more fundamentalist religions who epitomize exclusivity and divisiveness. They seem to consider themselves special in some way and separate from everyone else who does not believe as they do.

The athetic people tend to do whatever they please, if the dangers are removed. So you see the Chinese embraced the Soviet Communism, then later evolving into the Chinese styled Communism, Chinese Communism; or so they call it now.

I suggest you come under the umbrella of the Christ now, if you don't want to mingle with them no more.
