I know of a few people who say God has "spoken" to them. These aren't religious fanatics, nothing like that. They say he "spoke" to them, and whatever he said came true. They now say there's no doubt that there is a God, that theres no mistaking that it was him. What do you think about this? These are perfectly sane people.

Fact is, no cuckoo admits being off the rocker, just like no alcoholic admits having a problem with the bottle. There is a river in Egypt, what's the name...
I also have known several people who claim to have been spoken to by gawd. Of course these are the same people who put aluminum foil over their windows and television sets to confuse the aliens that try to "get to them" when they go to sleep. And, of course, they also claim to be perfectly sane.
he has 3 times. once audibly. simple instruction which i immediately did. resolved a whole lota problems. in all 3 circumstances i was at near end of my rope.
I just think it's people talking to themselves, listening to their inner consciousness and confusing it with the divine of their choosing. That's why God talks to Christians, g-d talks to jews, Allah talks to muslims and krishna talks to hinduists.
(1) One possible explanation is that the persons mind plays tricks on them.
(2) Another is that they are lying.
(3) A third possibility is that there is an being who can communicate directly into the brain and have conversations with you that involve neither his mouth nor your ears.
Of the three possibilities, which do you think is the least consistent with the what we know about the way the world works?

Do you believe everything people tell you or do apply common sense to filter out the things that aren't logical?

After all, why even waste a divine second whispering custom messages to individuals while nowadays he could address the whole humanity on a regular basis. Just hook up to all major satellite/cable networks, podcasts, Webcasts - done.
People who believe the accounts (the Bible) that a voice spoke to people ages ago often have no problem believing a voice speaks to them too.
