Yah, that occurred to me after I posted my reply. I doubt that there is any official tracking of country of origin. I don't think information specifically on "Mexicans" can be found anywhere.

You think anybody has an accurate count of how many? Yeah I'm sure they couldn't wait to get those census forms back in.

According to 2008 Census estimates:

Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, GA Metro Area - ACS Demographic and Housing Estimates: 2008

There are 314,440 people of Mexican descent living in Metro Atlanta. When you add all other nationalities from Latin America, there are 517,152 latinos in Metro Atlanta including a large community of Puerto Ricans and Cubans. As others have alluded to in their "own special way", Atlanta is a hub city for international migration and thus has a very large group of immigrants from Latin America that are undocumented. That community could be as high as several hundred thousand people alone. There is no way to tell the exact size of that group.

^Yeah, I've seen those estimates before and I consider them to be extremely low. I wouldn't be surprised if the true number was around 750,000 or so.
