Hello All

I have my second appt with NACA on 2/1/2011 and if all goes well I will be in the underwriting process in March. The issue that I have is that I am only qualified for about 90k to 100K and I would like to stay in the Cobb County area...another place I would consider is Douglas county as I see their school systems are the best. I did hear that south of atlanta you get more for your money, but the crime, commute and schools are things that I do not like too much about that area. I work in Kennesaw and live in Smyrna Vinnings area.

I really do not want to end up living in a high crime or post flooded area . Where can I see this money go a long way in Cobb , Douglas or if I have to South Fulton Cty?

Thanks for your imput and help!

About all I can say is I don't think Douglas County schools are exceptionally good.

Fayette county schools--Peachtree City and I think Newnan have a good reputation. That would not give you an easy commute to Kennesaw.

I recall that posters have said that the historic areas of East Point and College Park are nice/safe, etc. That may be South Fulton County--I'm not certain. Could you consider Cherokee county--if you work in Kennesaw that would not be a bad commute and from what I've read in many threads your dollar may go further there.

Can you go North of Kennesaw?

I wouldn't go south of town, that commute will be crazy and expensive with gas over $3 a gallon and expected to go higher.

I am not very good with that part of town, but what about Paulding or Cherokee, presuming that I am even headed the right way?
