East Cobb, No. Fulton, and many parts of Gwinnett will fit the bill. Good schools, safe, and not a terrible commute if you don't have to do it every day.

I lived in Gwinnett County In Lawrenceville for 7 years, I had no issues. However, I did not live in a cookie cutter subdivision, I lived on a street of custom built homes.

My brother still lives in Lawrenceville off of Lawrenceville Highway, his neighborhood is changing.

As far as I know the Gwinnett county schools are still some of the best in Georgia.

If you're looking to move North of the city, I personally like Gwinnett County (cities like Duluth, Lawrenceville, Buford for example), Cobb County (Marietta, Smyrna..), Cities like Dunwoody, Roswell, Sandy Springs. You won't be able to totally escape certain types of crime no matter where you move, but overall these are nice, "safe" places to live. There are reputable, schools, hospitals, shopping places, dining, etc.

kills me with this loud and ghetto thing .... and whoever told you Gwinnett County was the best thing going around here sure lied to you. In my opinion, all counties around Atlanta has their ups and downs .... and I live in Smyrna (Cobb County). I live in an area where the homes range from 125k to 225k and I don't have a problem over here at all. To me, Mid-town is very loud and active to me. Only areas I know of that would be more active than residential neighborhoods would be if you moved in the inner city of Atlanta, Mid-Town, or apartment complexes.

Other than that, please use the statistics on city-data based on the zip code to help you determine what type of area you want to live in. I also suggest you narrow your price range down for a home, 100k to 500k is a large gap

For heaven's sake. Can you simply not respond without a racial rant? It helps no one.

Gwinnett County is fine. It has some great areas for most budgets to choose from that are very safe. The schools are excellent as well, but the park system in Gwinnett is second to none! That is what I enjoy the most about living in Gwinnett. Plenty of parks to go for a walk/jog or sit on a bench and enjoy nature.

What does "best area" mean to you?
I agree. Cobb is safer than Gwinnett. I live in Vinings, and the only incident in 10 years has been a car break in, but I view that as totally random.
