Yes but you need to be more specific - what is your area of expertise.

What do you consider "high tech IT"...?

As with many cities in this market, a lot depends on who you know (and the specific business context you have experience in) as well as your technical skillset(s) and your actual tech experience.

We're looking for people all the time, but the company I work for has a very heavy airline focus. If you could provide more info, though, maybe some of us can provide pointers.

Currently studying Computer Engineering and am a systems administrator by trade. I can program in Java, C++ and PHP. Would you like to see my resume?

Do people find IT work with the online job boards? - dice.com, indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, monster.com, AJC jobs and so on. Just curious how it is for the average IT professional to land work via job ads in the metro area?

I would imagine a combination of networking with people you know, who knows someone is a better bet than answering job ads, but the job market changes over time in any sector. I know IT workers use recruiters a lot as well, but it isn't for entry level work, I would guess. Anyone know how it is now for someone with some experience in IT (systems administration / web programming)?

LinkedIn actually has a lot of tech related jobs, and they are more likely than some places to actually be real jobs.

Back in a different decade and a different metro, I had some of my best job interviews (including the one that led to me being here in Atlanta) from people finding my resume online and contacting me.
