roads of unusual material (brick, stone, even dirt) still in atlanta city limits (Reynolds: credit, neighborhoods)

i know in virginia highland both cooledge and cresthill streets are made out of brick. on google maps, it may be outdated but there appears to be a couple of dirt roads still in the bluff. i know in vine city around atlanta university center they've built a couple of intersections that are made out of brick, but not complete streets. anywhere else know of anything like this in atlanta?

I know of one Dirt Road in Oakland City. Drovers Alley near Oakland Rd.

Stephens Street in Mechanicsville is gravel. Boulevard Drive SE in Reynoldstown is also gravel.

Poplar Street in Downtown is brick.

Some portions of some of the roads in Cabbagetown are brick.

There's a gravel road in Reynoldstown. I don't recall the nake of the street, but it comes off of Wylie and heads towards the CSX yard.

Glendale terrace betweeen 7th and 8th streets in Midtown is concrete. I always thought how oddly out of place it was and wondered how it came to be. Probably an old alley way converted to a street.

There's tons more, especially in older neighborhoods, I have to jog my memory though.

Tift Street, in West End, is asphalt but has old (beautiful!) cobblestones exposed where the asphalt has degraded/broken away. You can see this clearly from MARTA if you look out the right window just after West End Station, heading towards downtown. I'm assuming many other streets are just like this, perhaps in nicer areas.

It would be an awesome project to figure out which streets have original pavement materials under the asphalt, and whether it would make sense to remove the top ~1" of asphalt and expose them (a project you could practically undertake with hand tools in some instances).

For through streets, of course this wouldn't work, but I'm talking about tiny sidestreets in historic areas (where people probably don't want through traffic anyways, and invest major $$$ in preserving the historic character of the neighborhood).

Me too. One example that comes to mind is the intersection of Clifton and McLendon in Candler Park.
