Hi everyone,

As fate would have it I'm going to be moving out of Atlanta in the coming weeks (I'm in Sandy Springs). This forum was an invaluable resource when I was moving IN to Atlanta, figuring out locations, apartments, etc. Now, I'm hoping for that same help and advice for moving out.

Basically, I'm trying to sublease my apartment / have someone take over my lease. I've posted on Craigslist but this really hasn't generated any hits. Anyone have experience with my situation and can share how they went about it? I thought for sure I would have more interest than what I've gotten, so maybe there are some other real estate websites that work?

I'm getting pretty concerned as the termination fee is pretty steep, and so thought I'd ask for opinions/advice.

Thank you!

Does your lease even allow for this? Most of time, apartments do not allow sublets.

Perhaps try hotpads...pretty good rental site.

If you're moving out of Atlanta, just go. What's the landlord going to do, research where you moved and then come there and file a court claim against you?

If you don't need the rental referral, just go.

I'm not sure if your credit will take a hit. Maybe a small one, but not like a foreclosure or anything. I bet the landlord is too lazy to even file the paperwork with the credit agencies.
