That stretch of Ponce is scheduled to be redone this year according to the people at Jamestown during the tour I went to. It is to include bike lanes on Ponce among other things. They also mentioned North aveneue would change and may include parking spots on the street, a crosswalk to get to the old fourth ward park also.

The reason Ponce carries most of the traffic is because people out east are using it to commute in and out of town (78 & 278), so while traffic is a "mess" its more about the people commuting in and out of town that need to adjust their behavior, not the people who live in the area who can take multiple routes to get around.

With that said, I think Ponce certainly would benefit from a few key improvements. A road diet wouldn't be bad, but they need a median to prevent people from sitting in the inside lanes trying to cross over traffic (often illegally). This backs up traffic more than anything. Then provide some turn lanes for appropriate intersections and add some bike lanes and, while traffic won't decrease, it'll move a long a lot smoother.

Unfortunately, its only a small portion of Ponce, not the whole stretch.

It was going to be Moreland to Juniper, now it's supposed to go to Peachtree.

Thats a pretty good stretch. After that for bikers you have the Path trail and its not such an urban stretch of road.

True, but it's a start. If it is well designed, it'll add to the area's desirability. The rest of Ponce likely will want in on the game and start pressuring the powers that be to upgrade their sections too. One of the most difficult parts of a public works project is dealing with public opposition. If the stretch is done nicely, it could make opposition for the rest of the street vaporize.

Apparently Mail Chimp is considering 100,000 sq ft in PCM (among other locations). If they close this deal that will make PCM 70% leased already.

Awesome news for PCM. Looks like it's going to be a great success!

(Plus it will have elbow room).

From a residential perspective, values are near peak pricing for condos in the immediate area. Interesting again that they chose not to build those out.

Anyone looking in this area, we are about to list probably the single nicest 1bd/1ba in the area. It is literally the closest condo building to PCM (660 Glen Iris - Glen Iris Lofts). PM if you want more details. It has a 400sq ft balcony!
