Removed - sounds like an ad for services. The plan is to relo. to Atlanta, make it my long term home and start consulting again. I'll have plenty in savings to be comfortable while I ramp up again. Money will not be an issue.

This has to be one of the best threads about relocating. I am surprised you have no replies.

Removed - do not discuss "other guys" - answer THIS ONE, or not. Thank you.

Be careful - the Atlanta area M&A market is pretty soft right now. There has been some activity among large cap companies, but middle market is still a bit sluggish. During the heydays of the 90s and early 2000s, the middle market here was pretty active, both in M&A and public / private securities. But, our area seems to be lagging a bit in middle market activity - VC investment is still down, the private equity groups are a bit slow, and public securities issuances just don't exist, with a few exceptions. Deal lawyers and deal consultants alike are historically slow. That having been said, I think there are likely some plumb assignments that can be had, but the competition for them is pretty stiff. Best of luck to you!

Buckhead / Lenox area is the first that came to mind for some reason. It is more on the "upscale" end of things but you should be able to a studio for around $900. Also check out Castleberry Hill or Cabbagetown if you want something more up-and coming / industrial converted lofts.

I clearly explained why I don't want to spend a lot renting.

I'll repost it for you:
