Has anyone asked the downtown neighborhoods how they feel about having a giant 200 foot lighted Ferris wheel running in their backyard at all hours of the day and night, 365 days a year?
I doubt this will last very long... so I wouldn't be too worried.

I'm not sure downtown is a good choice for someone who hates tall things with lights
An empty office building at night is a far cry from a rotating vertical merry-go-round loaded with tourists.
If they're living close enough to be bothered by it, then that means that they're living next to Centennial Olympic park which is already loaded with tourists many hours of the day. Plus ferris wheels are pretty quiet mechanically and the capsules are enclosed on this particular wheel.
That leaves the lights. Aside from the obvious fact that downtown already has a buttload of lights, the location isn't really within close view of any residential. It faces the park with the GA dome being behind the park, the Tabernacle is behind it and the CNN center and Waffle House/Americas Mart flank it on both sides. The closest residential I think of is Allen Plaza a few blocks up and behind a number of other buildings.

Do you think the tourists will be screaming and screeching or something? There are already thousands of tourists in that area anyway, so I fail to see an additional impact.

Probably LOL. Hate to say it, but I don't think this will be popular for very long...there's a reason it left Paris and whatever city it was at in Florida. I mean, if it didn't work in a world class city like Paris, why would it work here?

Yea, it won't be around forever, but I don't see why Atlanta not being a "world class city" would be the reason. That was unnecessary.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are screaming and hollering. And remember, they will be up high, and voices can really carry. If you happen to live over in Centennial Park West the people on this wheel will be looking right into your bedroom.

Have you seen what the wheel looks like? The gondolas are enclosed, so......NO, the voices won't carry.
