I hope that Jet Blue can return to Hartsfield-Jackson. More options are always good, lol.

Agreed!

It hurt my head when the news first broke.

I'm blaming Southwest for this.

We lose Airtran and get Frontier and Spirit to help fill gaps on only high frequency routes.... yuck.

I wonder if this is just for an increase in tourism to Italy or if they are going to strengthen the skyteam partnership with Alitalia. Even though they are in the same alliance, they were never as close as Delta, KLM, and Air France it seems.

I doubt that only because on 1 August 2014, the Abu Dhabi-based UAE national airline Etihad Airways confirmed it had agreed to terms with Alitalia on taking a 49% stake in the Italian airline. This deal was signed on 8 August 2014 and became effective on 1 January 2015. I don't think the Sky-team partnership is that strong considering Delta disdain for any ME3 carrier. I actually believe this may be a safeguard against any KLM-AF future strikes. The Sky-team alliance seems to be a hot mess lately.

I didnt realize Frontier became a bad airline to fly now until I read reviews. Atleast they have a 31inch seat pitch vs Spirit's 28inches.

Okay I book a Atlanta to New York Laguardia airport on Frontier. It was super cheap, and surely I can endure a short NYC flight. I was reading the reviews from previous customers about Frontier and they were mostly horrible. I'm hoping for the best. I'm also baffle that Atlanta will four carriers operating a hub like system from Hartsfield Delta, Southwest, Frontier, and Spirit. Also the LAX route from Atlanta will have 5 airlines providing non-stop service to that city.

Meanwhile at Hartsfield

Inaugural Virgin Atlantic flight to Atlanta from Manchester cancelled after 'water cannon salute' is swapped for foam and clogs engines

On a serious note, one would rather expect the airport fire crews to be better trained than to mistake a button that says water from one that says foam. It might not be so funny had they attended a real emergency and messed up like this.
