I know! Why are people acting like parking is an issue when 72,000 seat Georgia Dome and Phillips Arena alone have TONS of parking.
Not to memntion the Georgia Aquarium Parking decks and various other parking decks at all the office buildings downtown.

Folks going to a beer festival do not need to be traveling by car. Take the bus or the train.

It's a good move as it is easy in and out. Parking sucks in CP and unless you knew someone, you would just cirlce over and over looking, or pay.

While not a beer fest on the level of Hotoberfest, its a huge event that Sweetwater sells a lot of beer at. It was kinds like a beer fest last year.

It's really no different from any other concert that sells beer. A beer festival is when get to try as many beers as you like for free once you've paid the entry fee. That's not how 420 works.

I know having been to both the past 2 years. I guess since its put on by a beer company, it gets semi-beer festivalish. Or people make it that way.

I'm just pointing this out because people are acting as if this festival is differenty in some way than other music based festivals (or traditional concerts) when it comes to drinking. There are a lot of "you shouldn't drive to this" comments, but I never see any similar comments in regard to, say, the Mumford and Sons concert a few weeks ago at Centennial Park, or for any sports event or traditional concert. A lot of drinking goes on at those events, too, so why single out Sweetwater 420 Fest? Just because of the name? Are we really that shallow?

Any excuse to drink beer in a public park.

JPD - Good advice is good advice. And, don't drink and drive is good advice. Don't lose the important message in the semantics.
