They sure don't. They'd already heard from this same band of protesters at numerous commission meetings and at some point you have to move on.

By stifling public comment and ignoring their own rules? What were they afraid of? They're about to "not mess around" right into prison sentences and the courts stopping this boondoggle if they aren't very very careful.

Public comment wasn't stifled. These same objectors had appeared at several prior commission meetings and held forth at length.

While what Cobb officials have done may be very unpopular, politically unwise, and something with which many folks (seems like mostly Atlantans) vehemently disagree with, all of that combined certainly does not rise to the level of criminality. Unelectability? Perhaps. Criminal? No.

I'm glad Cobb is acting in this way. This whole ordeal is going to be a giant disaster, and I love a good laugh, so I say: carry on, Cobb!

Agreed. Being a scumbag isn't always illegal.

It doesn't matter if they said the same thing at five thousand previous meetings! The commission changed the rules to favor their side. That's not what a government is supposed to do! The government has procedures for this that can't be picked and chosen when and where to be followed.

Maybe not this one particular act, but where there's smoke there's fire. It is very likely given the shady nature of the proceedings that there is other stuff that a nice little grand jury investigation should uncover.

Completely disagree. Even if you're 100% in favor of the new Braves stadium, you have got to allow for dissenting voices in public meetings. Free speech is a right, not a privilege, and the dissenters at the meeting the other night were denied this right.

National development interest shifting to Cumberland and Smyrna from Atlanta (with the exception the Southern part of downtown) and Perimeter Center is what kind of disaster? This is great PR for Cobb County.
