Well, I don't even let my own dogs poop on the sidewalk or the front yard and just walk away from it. There is such a thing as plastic bags.

Our neighborhood even chipped in and bought a couple of dispensers and filled them with free bags but people would ignore them.

Even assuming their dogs have the right to poop anywhere they please, shouldn't the owners at least pick it up and haul it away?
Dog owners absolutely have an obligation to pick up the poops their dogs leave behind.

So long as people pick up after their dogs, I say nobody should really get upset. Same thing with peeing. One of my neighbors recently asked me not to let my dog pee in his yard because he says dog pee is killing his grass. He might have a point, I remember my dog's pee did leave brown spots in my yard when she was a pup, but it doesn't do it anymore.

Still, it's not worth the argument. But if everybody started insisting dogs couldn't pee in their yards, that'd be a tough world. The big question is, who's going to tell the opossums, raccoons, deer, etc. not to pee in their yards?

Pick up the poop, put in plastic bag and place in the dog owner's yard

It happened again yesterday. Two women were walking past my house and they stopped to shoot the breeze. Then I realized one of them had led her dog up into my yard and was waiting for him to take a poop. After he was finished they moved on.

I'm trying to be all urban and accepting about this but it just seems invasive to me.

It sure is rude and thoughtless not to pick up the poo. You oughta say something to them the next time you notice. Sometimes it takes someone being called out before they change their ways.

Not picking it up is inexcusable. Every time I walk my dog I see piles of poop right next to bag dispensers and trash cans that are marked for dog waste only. It's baffling.

More Elbow Room = picking up poop.

I'm sure dogs in the suburbs that walk still poop in people's yard, unless that's the reason for no sidewalks.

Oh, yea. They poop alright. And, the no-picking-up-your-pup's-poop problem is just as prevalent. Rudeness knows no geographic boundaries.
