Need temporary housing during relocation to Roswell. Help! (Sandy Springs, Alpharetta: extended stay, apartment)

My family is relocating from NC to Roswell. Will be arriving Sunday night and will be housed in a Mariott in Alpharetta for a week while we settle in to the first week of school, but the company cuts us off after that. The relo package completely sucked so we're having to pay for nearly everything ourselves and this is leaving us with not much cash to spend on temporary housing.

Need housing for about six weeks before we will close on a house in Roswell--from August 15-September 24ish. My husband, who will be working in Buckhead off hours (commute matters, but not so much), and my son, who will go to school in Roswell would be happy with a studio apartment. A 1BR would be ideal. Don't need anything luxury. We're not pretentious or in need of perfection, but do need a clean, safe place to stay until we can get in our home.

Is there a good way to go about finding a place?

I've looked for short term leases which are often for 6mo. Occasionally I've found one for 3 mo., but they have an upcharge for the short lease. Plus they are unfurnished, so we'd have additional fees for Cort Furnishings and the whole thing ends up being a ridiculous charge for what amounts to 5 weeks and 3 days. We simply cannot afford it. Hotels, even Extended Stay turn out to be 2500/mo.

Just posted a housing needed listing on Craigslist. Anywhere else to look or list or check out?

Need to find a place fast, or we'll be homeless. GAH!

Is your son going to Public or Private school? What grade?

I've never been inside, (But it new), see sign for tours.. Seem to be alot a Pickup in the parking lot, Price is/was 329.wk for room with bed & Sofa Bed. Exit 12 / Ga400 Might be worth a trip to check it out.

I can try to do a tour on Saturday and check it out, if you want me to.

I just got out of an extended stay and it wasn't $2500...!! It was about $1300/mo. I was staying in the Extended Stay on Hammond Dr. in Sandy Springs. I would look into those. (I was also on a company relo so I feel your pain)
