Is air quality in Lawrenceville and Athens as bad as people make it out to be?

Are these two good areas to live in that have a lot to offer and safe??

Atlanta's smog drifts for a great distance, and the whole metro area suffers from it to a degree. All of the immediate counties including the city will have numerous "smog alerts" in the summer that will range from code yellow (mild) to code red (dangerous). We have had summers where we averaged more smog alerts than L.A., but last year I think overall we had fewer. And yes, this stuff drifts into the Lawrenceville area and as far as Athens on really bad days.

Safe areas? Where - near Athens or Lawrenceville, or in general in the metro area?

You can get a detailed look a pollution at the website scorecard.org. Just type in your zipcode and you can compare that area's pollution, smog, particulates... to other areas all over the country. You can even find out which companies or facilities are the biggest polluters in the area.

Southern Company. Why do people in this area allow them to continue on with their nasty behavior? Slowly killing off populations of people by suffocation and illness should be criminal. Guess if you're in the "business" of doing such, heads turn the other way.
