In my living room, which is a long skinny room, there are 7 windows. There's not an exterior wall without at least 2.

And then when we got our plasma we realized it weighed 125lbs. Anyone wanting to steal that is going to have to get a partner. My house is 5 feet off the ground. I have a 5 foot retaining wall holding up my yard and a concrete staircase to get up to the top of the front yard. Then another short flight of concrete steps to get to my porch. Forget about breaking in the back way. I share my driveway with my stay at home mom neighbor...she notices everything....

So who did the install for you?

We did it! Now, we're pretty handy people. After all, we bought an 85+ year old house that was a fixer upper and have been doing a lot of work ourselves.

We used extra masonry anchors. It's just that the old brick was too soft....

We had ours mounted over the fireplace. Firedog from Circuit City (you do not need to purchase from there in order to schedule installation from Firedog) did an excellent job! It was expensive but we're not handy so it was worth it to us. I also heard that if you don't have a professional installation done with mounting, your warranty is automatically voided if something happens. Don't know if that is true but I have heard it from several sources.

How much did Firedog charge and did you buy the mounts elsewhere?

It was $399 (included the mount) and I had to pay an extra $149, give or take, since it was over the fire place and they had to use different hardware. Circuit City was out of the mount that came with the installation package so I got an upgraded mount for free.
