Atlanta has highest employment growth among large U.S. metros - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Quote:
Atlanta saw a 4.6 percent jump in its employment growth rate from February 2014 to February 2015.

The increase makes Atlanta the frontrunner among large U.S. metropolitan areas, Los Angeles-based CBRE Group Inc. (NYSE: CBG) reported citing information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Nationally, the employment growth rate from February 2014 to February 2015 was 2.3 percent.

Georgia’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for March was 6.3 percent, unchanged from February, matching its lowest level since July 2008, the Georgia Department of Labor reported April 16.

The rate was 7.3 percent a year ago.

The top 10 large metros with the highest employment growth rate from February 2014 to February 2015:
  1. Atlanta -- 4.6 percent
  2. Dallas/Fort Worth. Texas -- 4.1 percent
  3. Miami -- 3.7 percent
  4. Houston -- 3.4 percent
  5. Los Angeles -- 2.7 percent
  6. Philadelphia -- 2 percent
  7. New York -- 1.8 percent
  8. Washington, D.C. -- 1.7 percent
  9. Chicago -- 1.6 percent
  10. Boston -- 1.4 percent

I told ya'll that it wouldn't be kept down.

I love hearing all this good news... It certainly flies against all those stories about Atlanta being doomed, doomed, DOOMED!!!

Wow.

All those naysayers have to stop talking about how bad the ATL's job market is.

The numbers never lie. Atlanta is back in high growth mode....

It's great news, but where does the region stand since it was / is among the biggest Metros with job losses?

I was just about the say this. Out of all the "hot" metros, we had the most ground to gain, so this isn't surprising.

Fantastic news.

It's ok, it wont be like that for long. That's probably why we had such a huge year-over-year jump.
