Word up! This is what needs to happen. I think every major city needs to have a community like the old Greenwood neighborhood. Hopefully this will prevent the Black dollar from going into other communities quicker than it entered...need it to turnover more than a few times before it reaches another group's pockets. (Of course, more Black businesses are needed for that to happen).

I try not (and by try I mean I don't) to limit my shopping based on the skin color of whoever owns it, but I can certainly get behind shopping / eating / banking / etc. at local options.

Same here...not saying it's a bad idea (I know gay people who do something similar), but how do you determine who owns what? I guess you ask to meet the owner and see what race he/she is. It might work well in majority black communities, but how about more mixed or majority white communities where black businesses are still located? This seems like a tall task and not something I'm willing to investigate to try and keep $$ in my "community".

I suspect plenty of white folks would be glad to open an account with CTB if the price is right and the service is good.

Before anyone come and start claiming that I'm a racist or something....It wouldn't hurt to see more Black men & women become producers because our group is definitely the Golden State Warriors when it comes to the consumers category it seems. All about repair to me.

I'll support the businesses in my neighborhood regardless of who owns them. We're all in the same boat here regardless of race. The black businesses I support aren't receiving my money because they're black, but because they run good businesses.

Hells yes. Local whenever feasible.

I'm not sure how healthy it is to support business, or anything, solely based off one'e race. But at the same time, I am a fan of underdog. Whatever color their skin may be, they do I good job and I go out of my way to support them
