And if anyone believes that they have any interest in working with and enhancing the areas contiguous to this mess, please forward your name and address. I'm compiling a mailing list for refrigerator salesmen in Siberia.

There are many redevelopment opportunities surrounding the STP property, we'll see this area evolve over time.

Yep. Lets give the area a decade or two and see what happens.

For a glimpse of what Cumberland has to look forward to (and anyone that owns land in the area of STP), here is my repost of how you can make some great money leaving your land as an empty parking lot:

Then let's assume the parcel isn't making a dime outside of the 81 home games a year.

And even though they probably can get $20 a space being right next door, let's assume they only get $15.

That gets you: 150 * 81 * $15 = $182,250 a year just by letting your acre lot sit empty.

Even if we assume that acre is going for the $2M suggested above, a 30 year mortgage on that is about $10K a month. That leaves you with a $60k, 50% profit margin per year while doing nothing more than holding the land. Not bad considering most of the people that buy these lots are really just looking to break even each year and make their profit selling the land after holding it for a couple decades.

Even things like hiring guys to monitor the lot, keeping the lot freshly paved, (or other things to be a good neighbor that most of these lots won't be doing) will not cost more than a few thousand a year or bring the profit margin down out of the double digits.

What other businesses can expect to come near a profit margin like that on land costing $2M an acre in the suburbs?

See how easy it is for the demand for parking to drive up the cost of land and create a wasteland surrounding stadiums?

Yeah jsvh never misses an opportunity to Cobb-bash. Actually he/she has recently claimed the top stop on the list of C-D Cobb haters beating out cqholt by a hair.

And what, pray tell, has your fair county done lately to endear itself to those of us on the other side of the river?

I admit I probably Cobb-bashed more than I do now, before recently moving to Cobb from Fulton. And I still do Cobb-bash some. But to some degree you just have to have some pride and defend where you live, if people are attacking it. That's what everyone who lives inside Atlanta city limits always does, so, we can too.

But ideally I think we should all just like and appreciate all of the metro and treat it all as our home. I do. Every corner of this area has its perks and benefits, and I've lived everywhere around this metro, in every county, and ITP and OTP.

The commentary said the CID were founded by the the community businesses to supported the interest of the community.

Then I showed you how much the CID is boasting STP and them stating the economics benefits.

So if there was "PR" it's from the Business community itself.
