ohmigod! i lived in atlanta for fifteen years and it SUCKS! class divides, racial divides and cultural divides rule the day. georgia legislators might as well be living in the 1950's, they are so backwards and anti-progress. the right wing of the republican party controls everything outside of the city of atlanta, and the most corrupt democrats control the city. public education in the metro area sucks - there are no funds to make the schools workable; exurban and rural georgians don't want to give a dime for anything that helps atlanta, because they are generally racist homophobic bible thumpers! the south sucks in general, and atlanta is no exception. if you are even moderately progressive, don't move there. the ONLY thing the area has to recommend it is lower cost of living than most of the east coast. i'm so glad i left!
