Who's to say that HQ2 would be built in the Gulch if Atlanta were to snag it?

You're right. My apologies. If HQ2 were to be in the Gulch... which is clearly one of CIM and Atlanta's current contingencies for the Gulch site.

Well, the only other likely site would be the collection of parcels near the AT&T tower.

I doubt they'll go to the northern suburbs and Aerotropolis wasn't an option (since they missed the deadline for the RFQ).

The Midtown location would be just as good, if not better.

I suppose part of it would depend on whether Amazon desires a contiguous campus, or one like what they have in Seattle.

Also, IMO, The Gulch would be far more transformative (which is what Amazon said they also desire).

^^This. I'd hate to see Amazon locate next to AT&T because that area is already being transformed without Amazon. If Amazon located in The Gulch, it would jumpstart development on south downtown, which has been languishing for years and be a good complement to the Underground redevelopment and all those blocks owned by the Germans south toward the Greyhound station.

For real.

I think the best location for HQ2 is somewhere in the Spring Street Corridor of Midtown.

Agreed but a Midtown campus would more than likely be more suitable for Amazon's practical needs at this point. I'm definitely rooting for something transformative for the Gulch though.
