If this isn't a sad commentary on the times I don't know what is.

Here's a man being threatened with jail for simply maintaining his own little piece of paradise.

Quote:
NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Johns Creek man says a city judge told him he would go to jail for overusing his leaf blower.

Kim Treaster takes great pride in his backyard paradise at his home in the St. Ives Country Club in Johns Creek.

“I’m kind of one of those freak guys who likes to work in the yard and take care of a lot of things,” Treaster told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik.

Treaster said some of his neighbors on Henley Fields Circle aren’t happy about him using a leaf blower several times a week.

“They started to come onto my property and told me stop blowing, stop working in your yard and it got really, really ugly,” he said.

Several times a week is a bit much. Leaf blowers are horribly loud and you can hear them from inside your house.
He could just use a broom and a rake-it would take longer and he can spend even more time in the yard he loves.

Oh please, nobody needs to use a leaf blower 3 times a week. That's disturbing the peace, and he should be fined.

They make leaf blowers now that are 65 db, and probably even quieter than that. The man lives in St. Ives and has a freaking putting green, he can easily afford one.

If my neighbor spent 30 minutes running a leaf blower 3 times a week, I'd be upset too. Remember, not everybody works 9-5. His next door neighbor might be an ER doc trying to get sleep after a full night of work. He should be respectful.

What a resource hog!

Judging by the photo, there's some kind of compensation going on there....

What I would give to sneak into that yard and mess it up! 👹

What's this man supposed to do? Just sit there and let leaves and grass clippings blow all over the place?

This is what happens when you get all these hoa-wannabe cities forming. Avondale, and Pine Lake are two older examples.

Forming cities causes folks to blow leaves?

It's unbelievable how many sheltered suburbanites think the law can be used to "protect" their little idyll by forcing their conventions on everybody else. But the knife can cut both ways in cases like this.

Naw, more like become a bunch of hives/focal points/gathering spots for obsessive-compulsive hyper-neurotic people who have an incredibly aggressive need to nurse their own peculiar quirks...

....and in doing so, are seemingly driving each other just as crazy as the muncipalities they ran from...drove them crazy, I think.

But I could be interpreting this the wrong way.

That style of leaf blower should come with a freaking muffler.
